The Jolly Penguin

A Linux Users Social Network

I helped Ceri make a first podcast for another social network, AmeriCymru. We went to Fry's and bought a crappy karaoke mic (I was totally suprised that they didn't have anything better, their audio hardware SUCKS). He recorded a little speech and I downloaded a great, old goofy little jazz song here, http://www.publicdomain4u.com/, to use as the intro and closing. My embarrassing first podcast attempt is attached as a file to this post.

The tiny fraction of audio "editing" I've ever done was at school in Final Cut. Compared to that, Audacity was very easy to use but I have a LOT to learn. Tutorials are available at the Sound Forge Audacity site:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/manual-1.2/tutorials.html

and plenty video tutorials on youtube and elsewhere, of course:

http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Edit-change-and-mix-music---a-Auda...

And lots of good data on the Audacity Wiki:

I want to do audio CDs so I'm looking forward to playing with this more and learning to use it like a big person.
